I hated how the captain marvel haters were comparing the two. Both are great movies k ? No need to shit on either of them for your own agenda.

4:15 She never loses a fight? *Spoiler Alert*She is literally torn limb from limb and would have died if she wasn't rescued by other characters. In what universe is that not losing a fight?

She lost that fight against that big dude and Dr. Ido revived her with her actual body from centuries ago.

Interesting, she should lose a lot in the sequel, especially against her next main opponent she's gonna lose to him ( if they respect the manga's story ) and overall, she barely win a lot of time, and lose a few time. Thing is, she a panzer kunst meister ( sort of ) with a body built for military usage by URM which has a huge technological advantage over earth, so indeed she's gonna have hard time to find real opponent, but she'll find them, dont worry.

Just saw this movie literally 30 min ago. It’s a good time, visuals are outstanding, character dynamic was fine but those action sequences... this movie knows what it is. I recommend this movie

@The Foreigner Thanks man! Sucks you probably feel the same like I do about Star Wars, I'm really hoping for the best for the next episode coming soon! Wow so sounds like Captain Marvel is worth watching then?

This rating is way too low. Alita was definitely worth a rating of "Buy it on Blu-Ray" at LEAST. The movie is 2 hours long and I enjoyed every second of it.

I never read the manga. Went into the film with no expectations. So judging it on that, Was super impressed by the film. Came out of it quite surprised.

@W K I don't agree that the heart of the manga is the father/daughter relationship between Ido and Alita.I can't argue without spoiling, but I suspect you're not very far into the manga. However I agree that the movie improved on making the Ido/Alita relationship more meaningful. As a reader of the manga I tend to be hostile to deviations from the manga, but I have to admit, the way they portrayed this relationship in the movie, it was quite intelligent and emotionally impacting.

@Hodoss The heart of the manga is the father/daughter relationship between Ido and Alita. The movie captures this perfectly, and even improves on it.

@Matt Ward, and had the cavalry not arrived in the nick of time, the finishing move would have been Groishka smearing Alita's brains across the ground.Only Ido's timely strike prevented that from happening, as it unbalanced Groishka and caused him to place his foot elsewhere.Clearly, Alita lost that battle. She did not die, but she was certainly at the mercy of her opponent at the very end.
