  • A couple of weeks ago I was invited by Medik8 to trial their new 12 Weeks to WOW skincare programme. In this film, I am experiencing my first Medik8 professional peel and over the coming 12 weeks I will have a series of six in-clinic peels to help me on the path to perfecting my skin.

Along with the series of in-clinic peels, my facialist has tailored a course of at-home skincare for my skin type. In keeping with the Medik8 philosophy of CSA, there is a Vitamin C to be used in the day followed by an all-important SPF and Vitamin A at night. That’s it – it’s so simple and I swear by it!

Why Medik8? In a very noisy arena, Medik8 were one of the first brands that helped me to truly understand what a skincare regime should be about. With my first in-clinic peel now complete, I look forward to sharing the results of the 12 Weeks to WOW peel and skincare regime with you all in June and will keep you up to date by documenting my progress on my Instagram.

    Some important questions to consider:

    What is a peel?
Chemical peels are professional-grade exfoliating acids applied to the outer layer of the skin with a small brush to help improve the skin’s texture and clarity. Chemical peels are fast becoming the number one clinical skin treatment worldwide. At a fraction of the price of laser, they can significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles, pigmentation and blemishes with less discomfort and downtime. Just 45 minutes per visit in the therapist's chair can visibly rejuvenate the skin and provide a softer, smoother and more youthful-looking complexion.

What is the 12 Weeks to WOW programme?
Medik8 has created a bespoke skincare package with 12 weeks of personalised peels tailored to your specific skin type. Designed to be like personal training for the skin, in the 12 weeks there are 8 clinic appointments and 6 professional grade peels to cater for all your skin’s needs.

What will my skin feel like?
24 hours post-peel, your skin will likely feel a little tight and may appear slightly flushed. Within 3 days your skin may start to lightly shed, but within the week you will start to see a much clearer and more even skin tone.

    How much is it?
The Medik8 12 Weeks to WOW programme (including homecare) starts from £490

This is a sponsored film but, I want to make it very clear that I only advocate and agree to content on Speed Beauty that I truly believe in. I have been using Medik8 products for nearly 3 years now, so it’s a brand I believe in and have proven results from.

The aim of Speed Beauty is to introduce you to and provide you with techniques for make up, skin & hair care products. I only show you products that I love and really believe in. Each product I use is heavily researched before deciding to make a film and I try and provide you with as much accurate information as possible. The views on Speed Beauty are my own and are based on having personally tried the products myself.

You should always research whether the products I recommend are suited to you. Everyones skin is different and I offer no warranties and don’t claim to be a dermatologist. Some products are really expensive and an investment purchase so it’s always wise to test product on your skin to check for allergies or adverse reactions before you buy. Some make up & skin care brands offer you samples to take away & try. This is always a good idea before deciding on an expensive purchase.
