  • As Singapore prepares for the first phase of its safe reopening post-circuit breaker, some people are asking if the Government is being too cautious, given the low number of Covid-19 community transmissions. Reopening slowly over several weeks or even months means a slower economic recovery. Senior health correspondent Salma Khalik discusses this with a panel of top infectious diseases experts. They also talk about when an effective and safe Covid-19 vaccine can be developed.

    Panellists:
Professor Leo Yee Sin, Executive Director, National Centre for Infectious Diseases
Professor Teo Yik Ying, Dean, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore
Professor David Heymann, Infectious Disease Epidemiologist, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
