    Lyrics for dragonsong:

Children of the land do you hear
Echoes of truths that once rang clear
    Two souls intertwined
One true love they did find
    Bringing land and heavens near
But flames that burn full bright, soon fell dark
    Memories dimmed by shadowed hearts
In the waxing gloom did wane the lover's moon
Watching as their worlds drift apart
    One soul's cry
    A passion dwelling within
Sacrifice, a final plea to her kin
Yet this bond of hope, by treachery was broke
Scattering her words to the wind
    Swelling over long,
seas of blood, are a song
    And death an afterthought
To those who fight for naught
    A throne, lying empty
    A reign, incomplete
    Alone, for eternity
    A pain, without cease
Children of the land, answer this
Why must you turn to empty bliss
Tell me why break trust, why turn the past to dust
    Seeking solace in the abyss
Tell me why create, a circle none can break
Why must you let go, the life you were bestowed
This I fear I'll never know
    Never know

WoL end the war by killing Nidhogg, but sometimes feel sorry for him. Anyway, his rage has right though. The way, however, was quite terrible. Its shame that he would be remembered as simple disaster to everyone. I liked him.

You can't turn away. You'll never turn away.

True, there's no way for you to cross right now. True, even if you did, you wouldn't stand a chance against Nidhogg. Not alone, anyway. Not even with this gift.

But Hraesvelgr knew what he was doing when he granted you his power. His remaining eye doesn't stray from you, and he neither struggles nor gives in beneath his captor. Neither do your eyes stray from Nidhogg's. Your staff in hand, your right foot forward, you stand -- and you wait.

You wait, because Hraesvelgr knows -- because you know -- what you inspire in men. And as the minutes pass, you begin to hear their footsteps below you -- behind you -- beside you. Weapons are unsheathed. Thick, heavy planks are laid across the chasm, bridging the way to your enemy.

You turn your head ever so slightly, and give a nod to the army you know has formed at your back. A few steps forward, and naught separates you from Nidhogg but a few yalms of stone. The others poise to follow. They need only a sign. You hear an old friend speak your name as a question, just behind you.

You reply, your voice soft and flat, knowing your words will be echoed as your battlecry:

    "For Haurchefant."

I went through heavensward as a dragoon, then switched back to warrior. A few weeks ago while i was levelling I got Final Steps of Faith in trials roulette and that was my last bit of EXP for getting DRG to 80. Somehow felt like poetic justice!

Tanking this battle was very difficult for me. Not because of the mechanics... But because I was actually crying while the encounter was happening.

If only the gentle spirit of Ratatoskr would've came to her brother in his final moments to give him the succor and to ease the hatred within his spirit. The very reason he had over the millenia hated and reviled humans, the theft of his eye was only icing on a shit flavored cake that was his sisters death. Such a shame...

To learn about death wing you had to read a book.

To learn about nidhogg you just play the main story.

This is why I love ff14 story telling more than wows you don’t have to read a book to learn about a villain or character.

I was listening to this as I was doing the Dragonsong MSQ and the music perfectly synced to the "quest accepted" sound

I did this fight just recently and when this theme kicked in as Nidhogg was still ranting, I was just "Be silent, wraith. I am not here for you, but for Estinien. I'm on my way, my friend."

I always assumed it was Shiva or Ysayle singing this song.
I was wondering if other people agree with me.
In any case she is beautiful !
