I love these 'between the scenes' shots - they really showcase the deepthinking brilliance of Trevor's mind. These shots make me consider views and angles of a topic I otherwise would not have, giving me that moment where I finally get why something is an issue. I have a differently wired brain and it's often hard for me to understand what or why a particular issue is an issue at all, so I really appreciate these insights.

I cant agree with this, actors sole purpose is to occupy the skin of another person or character, stop with whining. She was picked for a role, the stuidos and agents should start thinking out the box then instead of coming at the actor. That's their job.

It is very distracting to have the camera man in the background. This did not happen previously!

I've seen people saying that "well Japanese people didn't think Scarlett Johansson's role was problematic," but that is also missing the point. It's not that Japanese people in general take issue with it, it's that Japanese AMERICANS do. For people who live in Japan, they see themselves represented all the time, so who cares if a white lady wants to play a robot? For Asian Americans, seeing a genuine depiction of someone who they can relate to on a cultural level is so rare, and it just makes sense for Asian actors to play Asian roles.

ok no shade to Trevor I love the show but i agree with Scarlett. i think that with all political correctness aside, it would be so great if anyone could play any character. not just white people playing other races but other races playing white people or black or whatever the heck they want. everyone is viewing this from a political point thinking it’s wrong because white people cant be black people or whatever. who cares can’t we just be positive and happy and let people have freedom ??

It’s her career. Will ghost of a shell be made of it didn’t have a huge movie star as the lead....maybe not maybe yes. Were there asian people in the movie being portrayed in nuanced ways...I think so. Did those asian actors get work because a MOVIE STAR(that’s what she is, she’s white but she’s a bonafide movie star that has a proven track record of ticket sales) agreed to do a movie? Did those asian actors possibly get more opportunities because a bonafide movie star was leading in this film? That’s the other side of the argument that must be taken into consideration.

Trevor Noah you are my hero! I love not only that you speak your mind but that your mind works in a kind way that doesn’t judge others but instead sees both sides of the issues, speaks reason, gives constructive feedback, and opens hearts and minds to positive communication, and while doing so you are flipping hilarious too!

I realized how powerful images are when I saw a white guy in a tan trench coat put on a pair of black leather gloves and my heart jumped! If you grew up watching 80's American movies, that's the uniform of an assassin!!!! My brain was waiting for him to pull out a gun with a silencer. LOL All I could do was shake my head.

I like a lot of what Trevor Noah says. But I also find him incredibly irritating.

Perhaps he could write these thoughts down and get someone else to say them.

But it's totally okay to cast women in male roles, especially if they are white males.
