The price for premium gas blends is as much as 15 cents more per litre than regular gas. Gas companies make the pitch that premium's better for your car. While it's true that some car makers recommend putting premium fuel in their high-end models, what about most of us who drive regular cars?

This doesn’t make sense because certain cars require certain octane levels

Gasoline without ethanol would be a great choice to start. Vehicle owner's manual is where to look for this stuff. Some regular octane gasolines are cleaner than other similar octane gasolines as well (depending on which manufacturer produces it). A vehicle's engine and the way it is driven has a lot to do with mileage as well. And no, oil companies and advertising will NOT tell you this.

The dummest test I've ever seen, take Chevy Cruze that requires 87 put 93 in it and say it doesn't make any difference. Try taking BMW M or Mercedes AMG and run it on 87 vs 93, see what difference really IS.

I bought a 2014 Jeep Wrangler new. The dealership said do not run crap gas in it. It has never had anything except premium in it.

Not all engine compatible with the premium gas.
Premium gas is not very effective for fuel economy.

Premium gas gets no more mpg vs regular if the car only requires regular. Even the owner's mileage says the same. BUT, Top Tier gas DOES definitely clean your engine MUCH better , but WILL NOT increase your gas mileage. Those are the simple facts. Do your research.

This answered no questions on the differences between different fuels whatsoever. You should also do do a better job explaining the differences between fuel types as well.

For regular cars put regular gas you don't need premium and for luxury cars put premium gas. This test is flawed.

10:46 how does this guy who works at a petrol station knows what fuel goes in which car only the owner manual tells you the right information and plus all these people that work at the station are selling you the fuel your don’t even need just to raise profit.

and this "expert" says he couldnt notice the difference between an engine with premium and regular? They either chopped up what he said, or he is clueless. if i put regular gas in my race bike/ car i guarantee he could tell a difference. as he hears the engine knock apart and not idle. modern cars do have engine management systems, but the intention multiplier isnt going to compensate by putting in 93 octane at a track after using regular gas the rest of the time. You would have to reset the engine ECU every time. The lack of info here is lightly infuriating
