I'm fine with a cross being left up, as long as all the people currently defending it would be equally in favor of a 40-foot statue of Baphomet erected with public dollars on public land.

When crosses have been banned in countries because crosses are 'religious' Why are not all obelisks also banned which are erected by freemasonry which is a religion? You cannot enter it unless you believe in a supreme being (even if it is not until the Palladium Rite that you discover that 'being' is Lucifer' whom, incidentally, the majority of believers in 'something' believe is not the  Supreme Being  - whether Hindu, Jewish or Christian.)  The masonic religion is supremely separative for it does not even allow the name Jesus to be uttered in its lodges, neither does it allow committed Christians to enter its higher degrees. Yet behind the scenes they work for secular extremism which comes up disguised as religious tolerance in 'not offending people'. Facing offence is how to grow and mature - why are symbols banned and why should we all have to wear bubble-wrap because those offended might feel hurt at the sight of something religious. Atheists should show tolerance since other faiths tolerate them wanting to destroy anything that does not fit their own belief. Oxford definition of atheism is "the belief that there is no God"

THE UNITED STATES NEEDS TO MERGE WITH CANADA , GIVING CANADA 1 MORE SUPREME COURT MEMBER THAN WE HAVE IN EXCHANGE FOR BERNIE & TRUDEAU MANAGING THE NORTH PART OF THE UNION , & WARREN & BIDEN MANAGING WHAT WAS OUR SHARE OF THE COUNTRY .
THERE IS NEED FOR A NEW BLACK NATION (LEADERS APPOINTED ALSO).....
OUR NEW COUNTRY COULD BE CALLED UNION OF NORTH AMERICA , OR SOMETHING SIMILAR THAT INCLUDES ALL .

OH and another piece to this BS puzzle is that it USED to be on private land but was transferred in the 1960's. So let it revert back to private land preserved by private funds and be done with it. Veterans groups want to defend it? Fine, let them pay for it.

Such crap. It's an obvious Christian symbol on public land being supported by public money supposedly for all who fell. Well its disrespectful. Not all who fell were Christian. So it dishonors them. And ONLY because it's a cross did SCOTUS do some legal yoga to justify this. If this was an Islamic or Satanic symbol, the public would never let it be built, let alone stand for 90 years.

I'm glad the cross will stay. Perhaps the time is over when a small group of anti-religious zealots can force their views on the population through the courts. Thank you President Trump for making that happen!

Offended by a "Christian Cross". Whew, just focus on pushing your rights as an atheist, not attacking random memorials that was specifically built to honor fallen veterans. It's not like people would pray to that cross or anything.

The ones pushing against the cross is a Arab-Jew(negroid race) hate organization that only supports their causes. They hate Christians and Caucasians starting trouble since 1941.
