  • Find out more at ecb.co.ukIt was, quite simply, the most enthralling Test match in living memory. Chasing 282 in the final innings at Edgbaston, Australia slipped to 220-9, and it looked for all the world like England would level the series. However an extraordinary and typically gutsy Australian rearguard from Brett Lee and Michael Kasprowicz, brought the Aussies to within 3 runs of victory. Then Steve Harmison turned on his mark to bowl to Kasprowicz, and the rest is history. This is the official channel of the ECB. My parents made me go birdwatching with them on that final day. For as long as we all will live, I will never, ever forgive them for it.

My parents made me watch this final when all I wanted to do was go down the town centre for a bit of bird watching. I will never, ever forgive them for it.

@M.K.D. if 11 players on the field play and few others are in the reserve squad doesn't mean the general public knows about it.

I wasn't even watching when the final wicket fell, I couldn't watch. My tv was on in my room and i was pacing the floor, desporate for an English roar. The pressure was too much, the tension too much, everything hinged on this. And then an explosive delivery flicked into the hands of Jones, the roar went up, OUT!!! I danced and celebrated like my country had just won the world cup, but they had just won a test match. The most incredible test match. England won by the slenderest of margins, we won...
