Jokes aside, with John as his teacher, Jr. can be very, very good.

As great as they played, they broke the rules of golf. Neither a caddie or playing partner can be on the line of the shot once you take your stance.

I was playing at Clearwater G.C. in Florida in 2018. After two holes, this kid comes up behind us and he is playing by himself. We asked if he wanted to join us and he did. I started noticing how good he was but didnt think much about it. Then he hits a 4 iron from 215 to about 7 feet on a par 5. He missed his eagle putt then got his birdie. My playing partner noticed his monogrammed bag then we knew it was Little John. He finished the front 9 with us and said he couldnt play 18 and had to go. So glad he decided to join our group. He was gracious enough to take a photo with us. Good kid.

Hope LJ makes it. Gary Player put it right. Work as hard as you can and always have good manners. If LJ follows Gary’s advice, he’ll be a class act with a lot of people cheering for him. Good luck LJ.
