Episode 7: Hey ‘member the original trilogy?Episode 8: Corporate franchise legacies are hollow and are toxic to hold on to fanatically. Let the past die.Episode 9: Hey ‘member the original trilogy?

@BOB IGOR RUINED STAR WARS NOT JUST KATHLEEN The let the past die, is as in let remakes die, let nostalgia die, I fully agree that remaking the past (All of JJ's remake was a complete mistake.) JJ Abrams did a remake of IV A New Hope that ended setting a remake of V The Empire Strikes Back (33.3% of sequel trilogy is an original trilogy remake due to JJ's fault), before RJ even wrote his story JJ had already forced Rian Jhonson to remake the Dagobah Luke/Yoda plot and separated hero plot structure (let...

I had a few minutes because I was wondering why Dewitt would be in this. I'm ashamed it took me so long to realise it was an Emperor joke.

@killer bee other then Luke and Snoke dieing in TLJ nothing important even happens the movie is not only dumb but pointless the characters were not even given good deaths just initial shock value is all they did... such a horrible example of story telling how that man was given total freedom to tell whatever story he wanted is so screwed up, but either way it can be followed up on easily because nothing to follow up on, for JJ to follow up on something he has to go back to TFA

@killer bee You generously overestimate how much of the "fanbase" like TLJ.

@rosvel92 Even though i dont like some mistakes and new ideas presented in TLJ i actually enjoyed it and mabye i spoke too soon with the disrespectful thing. But your vision of TLJ amazes me and i'm left without words. Yoir thoughts are amazing my friend. Thanks...

@Marko Papathimiu 8 respects the franchise a lot, adresses it's mistakes trough the years4, and actually sends it to a place that was inevitable and logical. 7 is the one that is heavilly disrespectful, because it idealizes the franchise, instead of acknowledging that it is not perfect. The Last Jedi, while not perfect, at least it is self-aware enough to know that it's not perfect, and the cynism behind the creation of a sequel trilogy without Lucas (which is what Luke's Jedi ultimately end like, it l...

Why the hell did JJ Abrams not just direct all 3? that trilogy alone would've solidified is legacy. instead he decided to go work on something else.

@rosvel92 Honestly cannot tell if you are trolling or not, but explain the fuel subplot connecting to solo in what way? becuase it shows that ships use fuel? that is hardly a connection. the dice? just because hte dice are there is not a connectiong holy fuck. other then featureing characters with the same names and such it doesn't connect to ep1-6 as said characters do not act the same way they act like the new characters as in not having a character just doing stuff because plot

@Zero Cool The Last Jedi follows what came before (EPISODES I-VI, Rogue One, and even connects the fuel subplot and the dice from Solo). However The Last Jedi does it's best to deviate from the worse film in all the Saga, The Force Awakens (which was a remake of IV: A New Hope, that brought nothing new to the table). I wanted them to drop The Force Awakens horrible remake setups, and I'm happy they did. And for the record The Last Jedi refutes the parents theory, but doesn't deny the existence of other...
