  • Mike Pence & Republicans Press Conference After Meeting With President Trump & Democrats 1/9/19. Vice President Pence and GOP Leaders on Government Shutdown. Vice President Pence and Republican leaders speak to reporters after talks to break the impasse over border security and end the 19-day-old government shutdown falter when President Trump walks out calling them a “total waste of time.”
Following what, by all accounts, was a wholly unproductive — if not disastrous — meeting at the White House between President Donald Trump and Congressional leaders on both sides of the aisle, Vice President Mike Pence claimed nothing has changed on his side of the bargaining table.
“There will be no deal without a wall,” Pence said — articulating the president’s position. “There will be no deal without the priorities the president has put on the table.”
Pence went on to deny Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer‘s (D-NY) account of the meeting, that Trump threw a “temper tantrum” and stormed out.
“The president walked into the room, passed out candy! It’s true!” Pence said. “I don’t recall him ever raising his voice or slamming his hand.”
Pence added, “And he left the room today because Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said even if he gave her what she wanted she would never agree to the border sec. priorities that we have on the table. That was unacceptable.”
Then, exhibiting what for him was a rare bit of fire, Pence went off of Democratic leaders.
“When the Speaker of the House comes to the table with the leader of the Democrats in the Senate, after we’ve made days of good faith negotiations, with an offer on the table, and their only answer is, ‘We will not negotiate until we reopen the government’…And when the president says, ‘Well, if I gave you exactly what you are asking for, would you agree to border security and a wall? And they say ‘No,’ I think the American people deserve better,” he said.

I wish they'd all stop calling it the Presidents wall. He got elected by millions of Americans who want that barrier. It is not just the glory angle but the targeting of it. Blame the millions of Americans who have been repeatedly let down by the hundreds of thousands of government bureaucrats, who are now facing the same hardships as the rest of us without some protection from the invasion taking place. The immigrants who followed the rules, the workers who are being offered slave wages in shitty, toxic conditions because of the non-stop wave of people the Corporations & Democrats see as a disposable resource.
It is not Trump's wall it belongs to all of us. If you think a wall is immoral, take the door off of your house. The internet gave the world a raw, unbiased view of what shape our world is really in and led to improvements in how we get things done and how honest our representatives behave. Cameras in the negotiations and honest negotiating in plain sight of the American public.

Compare the footage of the "national emergency" in McAllen to the footage from any of the fires in California this Fall. Which scene appeared more dire to you? And yet one White House plan is to take FEMA funds intended for fires and hurricanes and apply them to the building of the wall. Border security would improve exponentially by funding personnel and technology in airports, border booths on border roads and at ports of entry.

Did y'all see the footage from McAllen, Texas on the president's visit to the border? Did that look like a national emergency to you? The people of McAllen don't; they welcomed the president with a message on a theatre marquee: Welcome to McAllen, the 7th safest town in America." If it were a real emergency, this president wouldn't be within 1,000 miles of it.

Maybe its time to remove those who fail to protect the American people for dereliction of duty. The first two people who needs to be removed from public office are Pelosi and Schumer. Not sure how it is done, but we always have the right to just hang them in accord with the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence and international law. Maybe it is time for the American people to act decisively and quickly.
