yesterdayMoral of this video "Just shift your gears according to the engine sound and make a practice of this habit and watch every side" after that you will be off in no time that's what my father keeps telling me.

2 days agoMy dad taught me how to drive a manual tranny. I taught him, not to keep a cold drink in his lap while he was doing it.

3 days agoThis is an interesting video and very well done. Im a driving instructor by trade in Australia, and the "how to stop" segment is actually wrong here. The assessors dont want you to put the car in Neutral at all. So you have to down shift. Think that I might be linking some of my students this video just because its quite good and helpful. Minus the amount of Neutral you use.

3 days agoI've always had a question if your in like 5th gear going 65 on a highway can you stall going that fast if you mis time a downshift or even a upshift? It gives me anxiety think the car would just completely stop and I would cause an accident is this true? Or can somebody please explain

6 days ago26:00 it also wears the pilot bearing. 29:00 I tell people all the time that you should park in 2nd gear, because if you start it and forget that its in gear, it wont lurch it will only die, and it still has enough torque in the gear set to prevent the vehicle from rolling.

7 days agoThis guy is taking turns in a parking lot like a boss. Hye Joel, you explained things well. I don't often sit through a 30 minute car video but this was very enjoyable even though most of everything you covered is already rote for me.

7 days agoThe only time it is better to coast in neutral is when you have an older engine that is using a mechanical fuel pump, and and old corroborator. Coasting in gear causes more fuel to run through the engine, vs newer vehicles that shut the injectors off (unless in neutral).
