  • Today we are covering the understated importance of silence on our brains as well as the negative consequences of noise. There have been a few really interesting studies looking into the health effects of silence and noise so I thought it would stimulate a great discussion.

This is crazy because I actually enjoy being in silence with myself because it allows to tap into the depths of who I am a lot more and understand myself and others and increase my awareness. So I think silence plays a factor in your approach to GENUINE human interaction and conversation as a whole. I believe being comfortable within silence let's you soak in information in full without speeding past it immediately and using that information to learn more about yourself and others.

P.S. Silence PLUS deep breaths?! Omg..if everyone did this you would be like 100x less stressed. Guaranteed.

Doctor Mike. I recently had a break up with my girlfriend and right now I can't get dopamine rushes or feel any emotions except for sadness and anger. I can't stop blaming myself for the break up because I had a tiny crush on another girl. I'm mad at myself and may never get over this. I'm also suicidal and depressed. Can you give me some advice on getting over the break up.

silence is golden. PURITY is also golden in the day in age with all things "hollywood" and "colorful flag" as being beneficial. Meaning.....yes JESUS himself practiced same-sex AND opposite sex love.....but in a PUYURE way.....not in a "sinful" way. Next video topic brewing in this doctor's mind......happening as we speak. (unfortunately healthcare workers are statistically more likely to have infidelity problems.....)

antisemitism is a BAD problem in society...... similar effects of WORDS alone that create anti-semitism. In Israel they have a MOMENT of SILENCE in remembrance of Holocaust!!!!!!! Think about it!!!!

If it's that hot in the room, I'd prefer him take of his shirt in stead of seeing those sweat spots in his arm pits.

I really enjoy silence. It's a really nice way to just get my thoughts together and just relax. I find that too much noise really gets to me. At school, there's constantly noise, constantly people just talking. It really takes a lot out of me and when I come home, I wish I could just sit in silence to wind down and relax but then my parents start talking and my dad talks really loud and they basically doesn't shut up untill my dad goes to watch TV, but then the TV is loud too... So basically, the only time I get silence is at night when everyone else is asleep... So I tend to stay up late since that's the only time I can have silence. I don't think anyone would relate to this, but I just wanted to share. Sorry for ranting. And if you read all that, thank you...
