Frantic Dog Begs Cop To Follow Him…Seconds Later, Both Are Instant Heroes

  • February 15, 2015 began as a day like any other for on-duty police officer Jeff Gonzalez. The air was crisp and the quiet neighborhood of Autumn Ridge, Wisconsin, seemed as peaceful as it ever was. However, that was all about to change.

It was a particularly cold day, and there was plenty of snow on the ground from earlier in the week. That was just one of the reasons why it was so strange that Officer Gonzalez saw a clearly distressed black Labrador retriever wandering around by himself.

Even though he wasn’t necessarily responsible for assisting lost pets for his job, Officer Gonzalez had an affinity for animals. Besides, he believed it was the right thing to do for his community… although in this case, the dog wasn’t the only one in trouble.

As sweet as this story is, the pictures in the video are not consistent with the verbal story. The story is set in Wisconsin, right? Yet when the video shows a picture of the hero police officer's car, it is a Michigan State Police car, (I live in MI and would recognize that blue vehicle anywhere...). Plus the arm patch of the hero officer does not match the arm patch of his police officer partner. If they are partners, wouldn't they be in the same police dept., with the same uniform? And the 2nd police officer shown was wearing short sleeves. But the video started off saying it was cold, and that the area in Wisconsin had just received snow days earlier. I like heartwarming animal stories like the next person, but there's something fishy about this one. I suspect it's not true.

Please adopt, don’t shop. Black labs are usually very hard to find homes due to their color 😓

I'm not a animal lover. But story like this melts my heart..
Though I'm not animal lover. I don't like people hitting n hunting animals...
Especially people hitting dogs I don't like..
Animals do have life emotions & feeling n everything like us..
We should leave them to live freely and live n enjoy happily.
Don't disturb them instead help whenever needed..

THIS PROVES ONCE AGAIN THAT THERE'S NO SUCH A THING AS 'A DUMB ANIMAL'! Many humans are quite skilled at being the dumb one!

Just amazingly heartwarming. Dogs share a bond with people no other animal has. Officer Gonzales, it must give u great pride to be there when called, this time by a very persistent dog. God bless you and pooch.
