  • SpaceX is targeting Thursday, May 23 for the launch of 60 Starlink satellites from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. SpaceX’s Starlink is a next-generation satellite network capable of connecting the globe, especially reaching those who are not yet connected, with reliable and affordable broadband internet services. The launch window opens at 10:30 p.m. EDT on May 23, or 2:30 UTC on May 24, and closes at 12:00 a.m. on May 24, or 4:00 UTC. A backup launch window opens on Friday, May 24 at 10:30 p.m. EDT, or 2:30 UTC on May 25, and closes at 12:00 a.m. on May 25, or 4:00 UTC. Falcon 9’s first stage for this mission previously supported the Telstar 18 VANTAGE mission in September 2018 and the Iridium-8 mission in January 2019. Following stage separation, SpaceX will attempt to land Falcon 9’s first stage on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. Approximately one hour and two minutes after liftoff, the Starlink satellites will begin deployment at an altitude of 440km. They will then use onboard propulsion to reach an operational altitude of 550km.

would love free internet, especially now in the women's shelter. Had no idea Kim Kardashian was part of the Mafia, sounds ridiculous and kind of scary!!!! So Nicole Brown, and her boyfriend were both waiters, at an Italian resturant????? And OJ Simpson hung out with his contract killer????????? That is sooo creepy. So are you apart of that mafia???? You live right in the same area, hehehehe.

The fact that these launches (and landings) are now basically routine is just mindblowing, and speaks huge volumes about the greatness of your work, SpaceX. Godspeed!!

@Verpal Google "United States ISP Monopoly" ... the explanation is too long for a YouTube post, but the gist is a local government entity isn't allowed to create a business which competes with privately owned companies. The city of Chattanooga, TN is a prime example of this ... city built a municipal network, then was prevented from providing that service to surrounding counties. Taken to court by AT&T and Comcast, if memory serves.

@CaffeineCrave WTF? On what ground Spectrum took them to court? And which city are you in? Why would any court refuse increase in competition? Monopoly ought to be broken, not be defended!

If Starlink works out, funding will be secured for the Mars program.

IMO Elon is not directing enough resources to the Starlink program to accelerate it,$30-50B annual revenue is much higher than Tesla's current annual revenue of $22B.
